India is known for its rich culture and Traditional Indian Weddings.Indian marriages are associated with lots of customs and traditions.The country is known for its unity as for its diversity and this variety is implicit in the Indian wedding traditions here.They are multi-day affair and involve many intricate ceremonies such as putting Mehendi on hands and foot of the bride.All the guests in the marriages are presented with garlands in the guest of honour instead of corsages. Also flowers and rose petals are thrown as a symbol of good luck.
During all the ceremonies in Indian marriages music plays an important role.The wedding is basically divided into three parts: pre-wedding jago or mehndi night,main wedding,and post wedding.On the day of pre wedding families of both bride and groom’s side meet each other and dance and have fun on Bollywood DJ songs and Bhangra music.Friends ,cousins and relatives of bride and groom celebrate the evening by performing on Hindi songs and by doing bhangra dance.
In Hindu and Sikh weddings, the Groom leads to the marriage venue in a procession known as the Baraat. In Sikh weddings the Groom arrives wearing a Sahara and Saafa while carrying a Kirpan All the family members, groomsmen, and friends accompany him who are known as baraatis.

After this he continues onward to the Milna Ceremony where he greets the Bride’s male relatives.
In the Baraat ,music sets the mood for the rest of the marriage event, with upbeat and some exciting songs blasting as the Groom makes his way through the procession. The Bride is not included in the Baraat because it is solely to welcome the Groom and his family to the marriage venue. Saptapadi
In Saptapadi, the groom helps the bride to touch seven betel nuts with her right toe when they recite seven vows. Seven married women from the bride’s side whispers blessings in the right ear of the bride’s. After the wedding, the bride is carried out by her brothers. The bride leaves for the groom’s home where her mother-in-law has places a vessel filled with rice at the entrance door of the home. The bride spills the rice by touching it with her right foot to signify wealth and also that the bride accepts her new responsibilities. One of the fun game for the newlyweds is called Aeki Beki where a tray of water is mixed with milk and sindoor (vermillion) and it is filled with coins and a ring. Whoever will find the ring four out of seven times will rule the household. The day is finally concluded with prayers to God requesting happiness and love for the newlyweds.
